A compact and in some respects thoughtfully constructed list, dotted with more than a few quality selections and big names you may have never heard – such as Rioja’s Lopez de Heredia. A little inspection can reveal a number of fairly priced wines to suit a variety of tastes.

Selections by-the-glass, while serviceable, can border on pedestrian. So enjoy a glass if only to sit at the old-timey, saloon-style bar, before perusing the bottles. Odds are good you will find something satisfying from a good to exceptional producer.

Note: Investing a few extra dollars in a bottle can can pay significant dividends in satisfaction and enjoyment.
