| Casual, knowledgeable, friendly, and relaxed. Genuinely warm and with a professional’s attention to detail. A few good words should be said about the people at Casellula, as it’s clear from the moment you step in the door, they are engaged, in tune and in charge, and everything about the places flows directly from them – including the wine. Now about the wine. Affordable, but not in the way so many other places do affordable, which really means cheap. Instead of sacrificing quality, Casellula replaces the dregs of Burgundy, Bordeaux and Napa with up and coming wines from lesser known places, such as Austria, Hungary, Morocco, or Slovenia. Exotic regionally-speaking, the list does not stray into the merely geeky and strange – as much as we wish it would – keeping to fresh, straightforward, quaffable wines that pair excellently with their delicious food and fabulous cheeses. |
